    Electronics Coming Together

Started to build a solar generator to power the fridge and other power needs while in the outback places. It is coming together nicely!

Looking pretty good! Still in the works or have you used it yet?

    Camper shell AC

You could try one of those ice chest diy swamp coolers that has a pvc elbow mounted into the ice chest lid, with a 12v fan also mounted into the lid pointing into the chest. Fill it with ice and turn on the fan. It blows cold air where ever the pvc elbow is pointed. I made one a few years...

    Trailer Power Options

The only issue I see with your plan is that most 12v male connectors require a fuse and those fuses are limited. If you run more accessories than that fuse is rated for then you will blow the fuse. If you just put a larger capacity fuse in then you run the risk of damaging the components or...

    Who likes a big rack?

Show me a fellow who does NOT enjoy a huge rack, and I will introduce you to a liar! Lol... I’m with you!

    Starting SoGen build

I’ve been slowly acquiring various components to build my solar generator and now it’s coming together. The plan is to install it in a modular set of boxes so it can break down for ease of transport or need. I found this Craftsman Versa-Stack tool box set at a local Lowe’s. There are several...

What do you guys do with your dogs?

Old Bear is a 12 yrs old chocolate lab. Had to get him a ramp this year so he can get into the back seat of the truck. Like me, he thinks he’s younger than he is, so We didn’t want to chance him getting hurt trying to get into a roof tent. We put his crate in the annex and I sleep there too on...

    Rtt trailer build

Looks pretty stout. Can you share your vision a little more? Will the tent sit atop the main box or raise above it? Will the box be enclosed for gear storage? Do you plan to carry bikes or a quad in the trailer with a roof tent above? Lots of potential for sure! Coming along nicely!

    Who likes a big rack?

Ok, that is a super-sized rack for your vehicle! Will you run supports to the 4 corners of the rack to the bumpers? You have what appears to be 3-4 feet of rack overhanging both ends of the roof. If it were a steel rack, I would not be as concerned, but aluminum may present some challenges...

    First overland diy trailer build.

    First overland diy trailer build.

At first I thought you had a pop up camp trailer as your base, but then it appears to open like a clam shell with nothing inside. Is tat for hear storage or a sleep platform or both? Cool idea either way. Is the box up top for skis or recovery gear storage? How are you using it now? What/how...

    What accessory Battery?

Not to throw dirt on your AGM game, but it sounds like you are needing more power and charging than you are getting from your current set up. It also sounds like you may have multiple areas you want power for. (Rig and trailer). You are already using solar, have you looked at/considered...

    Who likes a big rack?

Great minds...! I built a “fun sized” (yes, I’m stealing your phraseology) rack over my 8 ft truck bed trailer. Built to be an over topper rack (just have not acquired the right topper yet) that extends to the front of the truck cab (trailer tongue). It started life as a contractor rack...

    Diesel Heater Transplant

Finally sorted out the quick disconnect fuel tank... I guess my old outboard tank and hose had issues, gunk, cracks, air in the lines, etc. I broke down and picked up a new tank and hose assembly and hooked it all up. It gave me fits for a couple days with battery issues, air bubbles, glow...

Diesel Heater I’m Negative degree weather

I hope you are still here, I really didn’t intend to seem negative. On the contrary, I meant to just warn you about some of the other forums out there, particularly the Chinese Diesel Heater forums. This group has been very positive, so don’t leave based on my miscommunication. I only...
