    Help with Water System

My son recently installed a tankless water heater in his off grid tiny house build. He runs it off an inverter powered off a couple LiFePO4 batts that charge from solar panels. He has a cold water intake on the outside of his trailer that he hooks up to a standard garden hose, but didn't want...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

Will there be any gear or reason to throw a load bearing rack on top of the trailer? Was wondering about it shedding water. Looks pretty flat.

    Refrigerator & Battery Question

If you have not pulled the trigger on an EB50, You could look at the EB70. The extra juice is always good. I love the idea of the Anderson connectors or even an XT60. Not sure how hard it would be to change out the connections on the SOGEN. I do like your train of thought tho!

    Overnight power

There are loads of commercial choices for solar generators that can be charged by your tow vehicle while driving and by a solar panel or even a gas genny while in camp. Look up solar generators on YouTube and you will be swimming in choices. You can also look at building your own at 1/3 to 1/4...

    Reaver's DIY adventure box!

Look at a stick (tig) welder, they are less expensive to get into and are very versatile and possibly easier to learn with. Tons of Youtubes to learn from... Of course knowing a welder is always a good thing too!

Poll: Matching trailer tire size to vehicle tire size

I really like your line of thought. I looked (scanned) through the posts on this thread and may have missed it by someone else, but figured I'd share how I addressed it... Wheel hub spacer/lug pattern conversion. My tow vehicle is a 3/4 ton Silverado. My trailer is a Ford 3/4 ton long...

    Spare tire carrier

I made one from a bike carrier that plugs into my hitch and still allows me to tow my trailer. I picked up a hitch extender and a double hitch from Harbor Freight, then modified the bike carrier with a kit from Amazon to mount my spare. I'm planning to add a couple Nato-style fuel can/carrier...

Proof of concept- Ammo Can Rocket Stove

Several years ago, there was a rage going on Youtube where folks were using military surplus ammo cans for bbq, fire pit, cook stove, tent stove, or even a rocket stove and a gasifier stove. I figured I'd try my hand at building one that did it all. lol. I have to take some more pics of the...

First "Trip" in the "new" xterra.

Love the rig. Looks like it has great potential, even as you enjoy it now. What is your vision for it? Just use it as your are or will you be looking to throw a tent on the roof and use the cargo bay for gear? Will you pull a boat or a trailer? Seems like my own rig constantly evolves on...

Camping Moon Portable/Foldable Wood and Charcoal Grill

I like it. I've seen some vids. It kind of reminds me of the hibachi style grills that were popular in the 70s, that were made of cast iron but had legs to sit up off the surface of a picnic table,. They were heavy, but could take the heat. Titanium wasn't really a consumer product back then...

    Looking for mounting suggestions

Looks like you licked it with the slide option, but I gotta ask a question or two... Does the stall "have to" be over the shower box, assuming the box holds the water tank and hose? If the shower just mounted where you are putting the bracket, and your kitchen is near the box, then your...

    RTT questions?

Wind should be no problem, but camp grounds usually have some trees so you will sleep better if the wind isn flapping the tent walls too badly. Charges and classification depends on the camp ground. Most will charge tent fees for roof tent rigs, but it's best to call ahead and ask...

    Started my Cowboy wok-griddle

GAME CHANGER! Hint- use a diffuser plate if your burner is 30K+ BTU. The domed lid is also a key component to combining the griddle with oven ability. Only thing faster for lots of food is possibly the Wife's Ninja air fryer... But that ain't FWOK-ing DIY/COOL!

    "What the FWOK? is that?"

It was my Bday on Friday. 55yrs young. Had some Family and Friends over, fired up the FWOK and made burgers and dogs like a Champ! This thing feeds an army! Seriously a game changer for the camp kitchen! Hint- use a diffuser plate with a 30K+ BTU burner. On high, the center will get to...

Might have bitten off more than I could chew (figuratively speaking)

I put mine on a steel tire rim, great wind break. I can sit the rim directly over a wood/charcoal fire or on a turkey fryer propane base. Very multi functional.
