    Modular cargo conversion

One thing I always check when using the internet sites (Amazon, Walmart, EBay) is to look at who the seller is ( it is always listed) and often it will be the actual manufacturer which gives me comfort. if the seller is Joy Joy Love Sales I just keep looking.

Poll: When you camp, do you normally have cell service?

Very hit or miss and we carry an In-Reach device when we are out and away from things. There are times where we don't have cell service but it is no big deal (some state parks for example) because there is no real risk, but other times you definitely need alternatives. Not only for contacting...

    U.S. Park Pass

These passes are a great deal if you are out and about. We used it extensively over the last number of years and it has been very cost effective. As others have also mentioned helping the parks is a great side benefit.

Best Overland Trail Map site or app?

I agree with Trailsoffroad.com if you are looking for information on specific trails by geography. Their descriptions and photos have been very helpful. Not competing with GAIA (or OB1/OnX) in my mind, complimentary would be a better word.

    I’m bringing too much

This is the type of can opener I take with me on trips. NOT these particular ones as, like a lot of things these days, I expect these to be cheap with weak gears but if you can pick up an older one they are fantastic. Easy to pack and work like a charm...

    I’m bringing too much

We are heading out for a while in a couple weeks. I think our kit will have the following -Colman white gas single burner -Firebox G2 folding wood burner as backup -Pot for water boiling -Carbon Steel or Banks Fry-Bake aluminum pan with lid, not sure which -Silverware -Coffee Cups of some sort...

    CPAP power

I run my Airsense 10 that I power with a Bluetti EB70 and the DC cord to cut down on power consumption. One hint is to turn off the humidifier and heated hose to save power draw.

    Overland Expo PNW

Sorry I just am reading this as we were there, however ran into an old friend so didn't get back over to the Expo on Saturday. Overall I really liked the PNW venue, it seemed more compact but at the same time less crowded than Flagstaff last year without the need to wait for a shuttle bus. Got...

    OB Canoe Talk

I cut my eye teeth on canoe trips to Quetico and the BWCWA as well as river camping trips and have wanted a proper canoe for years. My problem is storage, which I have none so I rent when needed. We did recently pick up a couple of Kokopelli inflatable kayaks at a good price and I really look...

If you are a Filson and a Fishing fan here is a pretty good deal

If you are a fan of Filson gear but are not a fan of the pricing Sierra Trading post has the Compact Rugged Twill Rod Case on their website for 41% off. Normal price on the Filson website is $425.00 (and still that price) but Sierra has them for $249.99. Still not cheap by any means but for a...

Refilling 1lb tanks, who does it?

I picked up the Flame King refillable set and it works really well. When I purchased the kit there were a number of spare bottles on the shelf. Once I realized I liked it and wanted some additional tanks they were nowhere to be found-so now I wait for the resupply to show up. I prefer the DOT...

    Windshield Pics...

Man you know it is tough to find a campground when you drive into a field looking for a quiet, dispersed campsite!

    Suggestions for freeze dried meals

Sadly freeze drying is another game all together but if you have a way to convert dehydrated to freeze dried it would open things up I think.

    My rant for the day...

As someone who posts videos I actually think this is a great thread and your views are certainly valid. Speaking only for myself my intention with YouTube was to stay busy and engaged once I retired and pass on some of my outdoor joy to my kids and others so I put up reviews, trip videos and...

Home Dehydrated Food Is Much Better Than You Think

for the pasta sauce make sure it is smooth with no chunks and avoid cheesy sauces as they will shorten the shelf life (ok for shorter trips) and dehydrate at 135 for 6-8 hours or 125 for 8-10 hours. It will be leathery and dry when done. Not sure your chili recipe but if it has ground beef cook...

    Propane Fire Pit

I don't own a propane fire pit but I know a lot of you use them. I ran across this today on sale at REI and thought it looked like a good deal from a reputable company so I thought I would share it for anyone that was interested-seems like a good deal unless shipping is a killer...

    Toilet

I think this is a masterpiece of simplicity, but shorter folks riding 40 inch tires may need a stool! Doh https://odditymall.com/portable-car-tire-toilet
