From my standpoint I would think you would use your food and cooking supplies more than your tools, electrical etc. Unless it is a weight issue (and makes perfect sense to keep heavy stuff lower) I would put the lesser used items up top and the more often used items below unless it is not an...
So many valid points here that I am not sure there is much more to be said but that sure won't stop me!
I think, overall, the trend is good as there are a lot of very creative minds working on products that fill a gap or attempt to improve on existing options and that is a good thing. Having...
I don’t think I will ever tire of the adventure and exposure to new places and people. But I will admit it becomes tiresome to fight crowds, have to plan ahead months in advance etc. folks out west are fortunate in having the open spaces but traveling east of the Mississippi is a much different...
For a dutch oven we really like this one. It uses mostly shelf stable ingredients that are easy to carry to camp and tastes really good. Grab some instant mashed potatoes and life is good. I do have a video for this recipe up on my channel if you want to see the cook that I will link below...
My main source for decades has been a white gas Coleman Powerhouse two burner, love that stove. For lighter trips we have gravitated to the Firebox G2 5" folding wood stove and take the Trangia burner attachment along with either propane or butane so that fuel is never an issue.
As promised in an earlier post we have put up our video of the final stretch of our trip to Tuktoyaktuk, this one from the ferry landing in Washington State to an iconic Supper Club in Wisconsin. More to the point for this thread is that we stopped along the way in Austin, MN to visit the SPAM...
Like others have mentioned we try to limit our trash generation as much as possible, but some is inevitable. For that we use a smaller size roll top waterproof bag that limits odors and can be strapped outside the vehicle. It really depends on how long we will be out and how often we will be...
I have seen more Falkens over the last few years but have never tried them. I gave up on the BFG KOs a few years ago as they seemed to become slicks in the wet at about 50% remaining tread life and went to Coopers after one try of the Yokos (we are talking 1990s here) and have never really felt...
If anyone is interested or has been silently Pressure Cooker curious Sierra Trading has the 6qt GSI Halulite pressure cooker for $39.99 ($89.95 on GSI Website) at the moment which I think is a very solid bargain. I am not sure what shipping would be as I have a local store I ship to for free...
This is now available again a the SPAM store, it was listed sold out yesterday when I placed an order so definately seems to be limited production! The link to the store is here-

This go around we had planned to do a stir fry type of thing with cabbage and eggs but, sadly, our cabbage was no bueno so we ended up just frying it and eating solo. Ultimately we are going to give it a go in a stir fry and a menudo both with some rice. The one flavor that seems to be totally...
I just tried a new to me flavor of SPAM, the Tocino flavor and it is awesome. It seems to have some very spotty availability so I bought a few. It is a Filipino flavor and has a touch of sweetness to it. Super good and currently available at the SPAM gift shop, I have never seen it in the wild...
