YouTube video frequency from Overland Bound has really dropped off?

I hope it is because they are out enjoying themselves! I know this time of year certainly reduces the viewership as well.

YouTube video frequency from Overland Bound has really dropped off?

That would be a very sad day for the community!

    Protecting leather from rain

I used a similar product called Sno Seal on my Sorels for years to keep the leather in shape when exposed to wet conditions. I agree with others though if it is left out in the sun all the time you might want just an edge guard. I would not want something that traps water as you may have a rusty...

What is the best piece of advice you can give a new overlander?

Asking great questions of a knowledgeable community is a great start. Although most of our travel is solo I would suggest seeking out groups, clubs, other likeminded folks (this is a great source) and join some trips to see what others do and have learned from experience.

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

After 30 years of marriage and a frozen bag of peas I don’t carry those either.

    Amazon Prime Day

Just a heads up that, if you are an Amazon Prime member, there are some deals on battery packs from Bluetti, Jackery and EcoFlow on the site along with some other decent gear for being out and about such as Lifestraws and some knockoffs. Also some power management gear from Renogy (I don't have...

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

I have never felt the need to carry any sort of firearm anywhere unless I am hunting. Maybe in polar bear country when I have to get out of a tent at night to relieve myself.

    The Grenadier....

Those who have pre-ordered will know more this month as to dealerships etc. I understand delivery in the US will begin in December 0f 2023. As to trips I am hoping to set it up for longer trips and more comfort than we have in the JKU. I think I would like to take it to Black Bear as one of the...

Comparison of Lightweight Power Stations for Overlanding

There are CPAP specific battery packs that seem to be designed to power the unit for one night and seem pretty expensive. My path was to use my Bluetti power pack to power the CPAP as well as all of my other charging and power needs. It seemed a much more useful solution for me when overlanding...

    The Grenadier....

I put in my preorder last week. A ton of unknowns about this rig, dealers, repair, reliability, yada yada and I am normally not one to jump into the early adoptor bucket but I really like what they have done, the mindset behind the project and the partners they have chosen. I might live to...

What I've learned about solar energy and fridges

I will likely be looking at something early next year so your insight is much appreciated, everyone's is actually!

Comparison of Lightweight Power Stations for Overlanding

Until my CPAP dc power loses the cigarette plug I gotta have it. Inverter uses more power than the DC so I stick with that. But you are right, the cpap plug is pretty shite and I would not trust it moving. On the other hand the Bluetti charge cord never comes loose in the back of the JK.

    Trans-Taiga Road

This is great information. We are planning to drive it this August/September. From what I am reading there are stations along the TT however don't count on them being open at your convenience? For those traveling (my vehicle gets approximately 17MPG) how much fuel do you consider a minimum to...

    Sudden revelation

I currently move between vehicles so nothing is hard mounted in my trucks (JKU Wrangler and F150 5.5 ft bed). My sleeping is either in the vehicle or in a ground tent. When in the F150 I take a good cooler but still try to carry mostly shelf stable food, cooking/kitchen items go in a chuck box...

Has anybody done a trip with legends overlanding? In Baja?

I go to Baja Legends website and there is nothing there since 2020 trips unless I have the wrong one. I see there is a Legends tour as well so maybe it morphed. https://bajalegendstour.com/

    Salt and Pepper Grinder

Most likely not of the Peugeot quality but works fine for our chuck box is the small set of Primus mills. They hold enough for a reasonable trip (ymmv) and have proven reliable. https://primus.us/products/salt-and-pepper-mill?variant=42276783325410
