    The Grenadier....

Picked up the Grenadier last week and put up a video just talking about why I ended up pulling the trigger and getting one despite my long-time car buying rules. If anyone wants to have a look at it I will post it below. I think , bottom line, it is a bit of a punt as to how well INEOS...

The Quest for the Best Knife.

Mora Bushcraft Black is my favorite. Carbon steel sharp, able to strike a ferro rod, well built and best of all, pretty reasonable price.

    Camp coffee!

A bit of a hodgepodge for me as well. Historically it was a percolator but as we tried to downsize the kit we have tried instant, the GoJo coffee straw and the Aeropress. All are fine for camp but a good instant (I know) sure makes it easy.

    The Grenadier....

INEOS has removed all hitches for US vehicles due to a software issue that, I believe, impacts the trailer lighting. We are waiting for resolution but INEOS is giving the tow package for free to everyone who ordered due to the hassle. Once resolved they will reinstall the hitches.

How did you get where you are now?

My overlanding/camping progression probably pretty standard affair- Late 1970s Cub/Boy Scouts and fell in love with the camping/outdoor aspect 1980's camping weekends with friends at local county and state parks (Midwest is full of them) complete with all the beer we could drink Early 1980s my...

    The Grenadier....

I will pick it up in the next couple of weeks, it is at the Chicago dealership and they just told me all the PDI work has been done. Sadly none of the accessories have arrived and it is still impacted by the NA towing software issues, but at least I can start the break-in procedures and have...

What is your favorite Go-To knife for overlanding.

I inherited a yellow Case knife just like that from my dad-sweet little tool. Interesting story one of the spring bars broke on it a couple of years ago and I contacted Case about it-they repaired the knife and cleaned it up at no cost. Great customer service as I have no idea how old the knife...

    Going it alone, or not?

Our travel is primarily myself and Camera Lady. The primary reason is the we tend to take longer trips and don't really have any friends/family that do this type of thing. Weekend trips and events are fine and I most certainly enjoy meeting people on our travels, but the actual travel is mostly...

    Let them eat SPAM!

I have made SPAM jerky a few times recently and it remains relatively soft so do you even need to rehydrate it? I guess the fat in it keeps it more tender than beef etc. but also would lower the time you could store it so not a long term keeper but for a shorter trip seems to work great, even as...
