    Great Sand Dunes

I would recommend coming to Colorado for the mountains: to travel the amazing high elevation 4WD roads and camp by the mountain lakes, etc. The Great Sand Dunes are interesting in the way they were formed and that they are in the mountains. For me, they would be a side trip and not the main...

Salt Lake City Area Meet Up

Hi Tommy! I don't recall anything going there for a while. When I filter on just the Rocky Mtn Region I don't see anything: https://www.overlandbound.com/event/?region=46 I'm not close enough to help much with a monthly run, but we'd be thrilled if you wanted to help get something going...

    Texas-New Mexico-Colorado trip reccommendations

How set are you on this route? Along the lines of the previous poster, have you thought about heading straight for the Colorado Rockies to beat the heat, running some amazing trails then heading straight home when your time runs out? BTW, my wife loves the Pagosa Hot Springs.

There are several other amazing trails in the immediate vicinity of those you've mentioned that you might consider if you have the time..... Probably too many to list easily. Sorry I can't help with flagstaff. It has been several years since I last camped there.

It's more gear than I like to bring now that I have a satellite communicator. We'd have to really be sure we were going to use it. :) When I was first licensed in 2010, I used it a lot when I went camping alone to send text messages and emails back to the wife. I started with Winmor which is...
