I'm reserching front bumpers for my son's 18 4runner. I'm looking for what your running, likes and dislikes. It is mostly street with mild off road.
Last spring he hit a deer and wants a bit more strength in front.
Looking at something that covers to the side with a loop by the grill. Full...
If your going to put out the money for the Optima, step up to the Odyssey.
The lesser AGMs don't run pure lead in the plates. This makes them cheaper and not have the same lifespan. With that said, I have run the cheaper AGMs for several years without issue. I've run AGM's since they came out...
Your best way is a tie down to the floor. if you look you can find expandable bars that push across the inside of the bed. I've used those in the past. Years ago I went through all that. I got tired of all the half azed way's that eventually loosened making my cargo unsecure. All my cargo is now...
I run a 4gauge feed to the rear. There's a junction and separate fuse/relay panel. From there I run 8gauge to my 7 pin and 10 gauge into my trailer. This way I have very little voltage loss.
I built my trailer as sort of a minimalist build. Battery up in the front box, tow rig charges it and solar tops it off. The amount of battery you need is based on your power draw and how long your stationary.
Half of my trips im in a diffrent spot each night and the other half I can be base...
From what I understood, these trailers were very popular from the late 40's to 60's. Ranch's loved them due to their size. This is why there was quite a few aftermarket parts made for them. One of the pictures I saw was a dump bed kit. another was a rounded cover for the top making it look like...
One more thing.
As far as I know, the military trailers had a plaque mounted on the driver side front of the tub. In your picture #8 I dont see the holes from it. That could mean civilian. It could also mean no park brake.
I'm also thinking back over 20 years from when I researched mine. My...
When I bought mine, it took years to identify it and I can still find diffrent names for it. What that means is, all the experts say something diffrent.
I settled on it being a 42 M-100 (registration says 42 special construction). The design stayed similar forever with only a few differences. If...
Heh, your right. Old habit's. That goes along with calling power accessory ports, "Cigarette Lighter Plugs". Most people today have never seen a cigarette lighter.
Go lithium. Your LiFePO4 battery's are very stable and lighter. Compared to AGM, the benefits are too numerous to list. If you were talking high output batteries for a winch, your better off cost wise with the AGM. The correct high amp lithium is very expensive.
The problem with the guy who...
It all depends on the maintenance done.
Most of your bolt on's are at the end of their life span. If they have no receipts and say "I've never had to put money into it", be cautious. I personally have no issue buying something with that high of milage but go in knowing I'll dump money into it to...
I agree. On a few of my more resent mountain trips, I was amazed about the lack of remote spots available. I would look on a Friday morning and almost nothing. The number of "occupied" camps vs the number of people I saw, make this more of a reality.
I'm not disagreeing, I just have a hard time understanding it. I can see abandoning camp for an emergency. We have all seen abandoning trash but a trend with leaving gear?
I have a 10 pound propane tank. Not sure of the usage. On one of my trips, quite a few used my shower and the only issue was water.
Lets see if @grubworm can comment. he used 1 pound cans.
When I bought mine there were only two brands, Camplux and another. I have an older version of the one I linked. Its probably going on 10 years old. When you look at them make sure it has a main off switch. Some turn off by removing the batteries. The burner turns on/off by sensing water flow...
You could build something using 80/20 like you said. the issue then is, attaching it to the roof. If it goes on the smart cap, it will be easy. Not so much on a truck or SUV.
On my small trailer, the RTT was attached with 1X2, 80/20, bolted to the lid. Later I needed to store my solar panel...
