I use the OB Talk mobile app on iOS. I receive daily push notifications that read "Daily Picks: Cool Thread You Might Want To Check Out". I appreciate the idea behind these, because I can't possibly see everything cool going on on OB. Maybe that's a thread I don't want to miss out on.
However...
You'll be good. That's saying the roads are closed during turkey season, but open the rest of the year.
Keep in mind muzzleloader and archery deer season is open up there right now. You will see hunters. Starting Nov 17 until Jan 6 you can hunt with a rifle, and in my experience the last couple...
I am going to be unable to attend, so I'd like to help an OB member out. Selling 1 weekend pass with camping plus vehicle pass to Overland Expo East. Asking $190 face value. Not looking to make a buck, just don't want to the ticket to go unused. First come, first served via DM.
As long as you get a permit and pack in and pack out you're good for 14 days at a time. You can always call the Ranger station before you get in the car to double check. They will sometimes close parts of the forest for fires or winter weather. But you don't want to be there then anyway.
I've yet to have a problem. If it's too crowded pick a forest road and keep driving until it ain't! Most Forest Rangers are also happy to recommend spots they know about. Usually worth stopping to ask.
There's plenty of space for dispersed camping down in the Tellico River area among other areas of the Cherokee National Forest.

We're weeks away from peak fall foliage in Tennessee. I don't know about y'all, but I plan to be out camping in it as many weekends as I can!
I've got photos, dash cam video, and video of us clearing the deadfall on the trail. Give me a few days to edit that together in between work and I'll share with everyone.
I will be there Friday evening, and I'll monitor GMRS/FRS channel 15 for a while if folks are lost. But really as Dave said, you can't miss this place. Google Maps can even navigate you to the Neville Bay Lake Access. It's not a traditional campground, just a big mowed field next to the boat...
Would love to get out on the KAT some, and specifically the DBBB. There's also a fella up near Hazard who has put together what he calls the Perry County Offroad Tour. I've got maps for that. That one is a bit more tame, but does include an overnight. Somewhere between an LBL trip and a full...
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but bringing anything other than locally-bought, heat-treated firewood into the park is a no-go. LBL, and all National Parks, Forests, Recreation Areas, etc prohibit it to prevent the spread of insects:
