Gold Butte National Monument Christmas week...
These were just my quick phone-snaps, I have 200+ pics on my cam I need to process. We did the Lime Kiln trail one-way, found connectors onto the Gold Butte Backcountry Byway.

Any camping is good camping, but when I have my pick I like to go out for at least 3 or 4 nights and move every day. I love getting to see new sights and cover a lot of this wonderful country (and hopefully others someday as well).
Heavy by Overlanding standards, but light compared to RV'ers...
Interesting because that's only about a 31.7" vs. the stock 32.8"... of course that might buy you the space for chains if needed. Width is obv very close, being just 10mm narrower, the 275 in the stock size and 265 in your new size is the section-width (not tread width) in mm.

I'd go with a Pro-4X for the rear locker, though it might have been on the "Off Road" too but I'm not a "Nissan guy" to be honest, so I'm sure somebody can clarify. As for checking function, first just see if it engages. You need to be in 4LO, then you can hit the switch and see if the light...
It looks like the stock 22" tire size was 275/50R22 which is roughly a 32.8x10.8-22" tire. As such, a 33x10.5-17 or 18" would fit and is a pretty decent sized tire. Earlier you mentioned you put a "315" on yours, but what was the aspect ratio and rim size? 315 in and of itself doesn't define...
You can see a bit of the interior in these older pics...
Those pics were from way before it was supposed to be my Overlander, but the WJ was down. I had the bed loaded and the cab full, but I should have realized then it was the right rig!

Wow, thanks! Seriously thanks for taking the time to review my thread (I know I can be long-winded) and provide such a thoughtful comment!
As for the swing-out, I couldn't agree more. I won't lie, the RIG'd setup gets expensive when you look at the whole package. But it flat-out WORKS, and is...
Overall I think Nissan is on-par w/ Toyota. Each have their exceptions, for example, the only vehicle I've owned that got Lemon Lawed was a Toyota product ('06 Lexus IS250). But overall Nissan is pretty typical Japanese auto-maker reliability. And there are exceptions to the rules the other...
Thanks. I have a thread here: Going back to a Full Size for my Overlanding Someday I should get more into that whole YT thing and do a walkaround vid when it's all setup in a nice location...

Yup. Very similar overall to a 5th Gen 'runner (4.0L V6 and a 5spd auto, body-on-frame construction, IFS/solid rear axle, rear locker available in the right trim, etc.). They have less aftermarket support, but there's still plenty out there for them.

Ah, so if you have Low Range, with that being I don't see any compelling reason to switch. The AT4 really had no other functional advantages outside of the wheel/tire package and some factory skids that surely you can add (though chances are there are better aftermarket options). Yes, the '03...
Those are calls you'll have to make. I like having low range, but my rig is heavy-heavy (over 10k lbs loaded out for a trip) and I do tend to seek more technical trails. If you don't mind a few scratches and such on it, I don't see any reason you can't just use it. They say "the best...
Most of the differences are cosmetic. The biggest substantive difference would be the t-case, if I'm not mistaken (and I certainly could be) your Denali will have an AWD-type t-case vs. a true 4x4 case w/ Low Range, right? I'd say for what most ppl considering Overlanding that's not going to...
