Headed from East Coast to West later this year to run Rubicon Trail and debating pulling the RTT to drop the center of gravity. The rig is well built, but I'm balancing the comfort of having it for a ~2 week cross country trip with de-risking that part of the trip. Any first hand experience...
I use the exped megamat when I am solo camping without the vehicle and I have to say it is pretty exceptional. I see the comment about budget; I've actually seen a lot of these show up at REI in the "garage sale" because of returns for crazy discounts, I'd say it's worth checking into it if...
Black 95L case with latching Roam Adventure Co mounts, both in excellent condition. Used for one season before changing setup. Local pickup only given size, price is firm.
If it helps you make a sale to someone in GA by having the complete kit I've got the 60x54 pioneer platform, full rail, and Maximus 3 side ladder for sale (off a JKU but expect it's the same) with no mounts.
They are more like car shows/expos but they primarily market on Facebook. Skottles and Bottles is at Sweetwater Brewing, Ales and Overlands is at Steady Hand Brewery. Both are free to attend.
Saw the same; seems like the North GA thread is starting to get active but I'm surprised by the number of members in ATL and how quiet it is. Would definitely be up for creating a low key meetup at a local brewery. I know we have Skottles and Bottles, Ales and Overlands, etc. but something...
How far east are you planning to be when you move through the Southeast? The GAT would have some good options in Georgia, Uwharrie is a great stop in NC, and Ocala National Forest in Central Florida has plenty of options for dispersed camping and exploring.
We've had some luck in other groups posting the general event with region but without location details and having a rider cap / wait list. In the vein of tread lightly, the details were sent by PM to the confirmed driver list the week prior to manage group size.
Glad to see there is some activity. We are hoping to find a community outside of the FB groups which have become more advertising than conversations so happy to meet y'all
Is there an active OB community in the metro Atlanta and surrounding area? I just joined the forums and everything for Georgia appears very quiet despite a good number on the members map.
Hey all, new to the group and located near Atlanta, GA. We are in a Jeep JKUR and generally are exploring in the Southeast. I'm definitely not new to being in the outdoors or working on vehicles but am far from an expert. Looking forward to connecting with others in the region and sharing the hobby.
