Yes! No contact/no shows are the worst. Pulling out the Chevy motor/trans out and taking it back to all Toyota. Bought a 100 series L/C from Copart and canabalizing it for motor/tranny/trans case, harnesses, etc. Should be completed by July with any luck.
Tough decision but I'm gonna bow out of this trip. I've decided to do some major surgery on my '65 FJ45 and I can't afford both. Anyway, I hope this trip is epic for everyone. Take care. Pete.
Greetings, everyone. Pete Williams (ctcv1984) here and I'll be joining you on this trek. I'll be coming up from Rocklin, CA. and will join up in the Sisters/Bend area if you're taking highway 20 over to Brothers for your first night. If not, then I guess I'll meet up in Brothers. Ham is KN6YMR...
Update for those making this trip: Early forecast calls for partly cloudy conditions all three days with a very low chance of rain. If possible, can everyone bring one bundle of firewood for, you guessed it, a nice evening fire on the beach. Also, some kindling would be helpful. Thanks...
I don't have a track and I have no idea what a gpx is. There are no rocks of any significance on this trail, although it's rutted and if it hasn't rained in a while, very dusty. We passed a Prius (!) on this trail in 2019 sooooo.....
Some followup for those making this trip: A GMRS radio will be needed as we will be on channel 15 for comm's. A Handheld should be all we'll need. There is (or at least there used to be) a pit toilet near where we will be camping but personal "relief purposes" should be brought. It could also be...
For what it's worth, I was planning to head to Deeth and then north from there on the 27th. I'm estimating I'll get into Deeth around 2pm-ish. Will that work for you?
Thanks, Paul. Yeah, this will be my first off road trip with the trailer, a shakedown cruise if you will. Bought it used, it's in near new condition. See you in Jarbridge with my best spatula. Pete.
Greetings to everyone going on this excursion. Pete Williams here, from Rocklin, CA. I'll be seeing you in Jarbridge and I'll be doing at least the IDBR. The "And then some" is possible but I'll probably dump off the trail and visit friends in Rathdrum, Idaho. I'll be in a 2016 4Runner towing a...
Selling my James Baroud Evasion XXL rooftop tent that I bought used in July 2018. At that time it was a year old. Selling because I bought an offroad trailer. I've got 40-50 nights in this tent and it has served me very well. There is no tent flap in high winds. The mattress is in good...
Selling my Whynter 45 quart refer I purchased in 2019. I've used it on about 12 outings or road trips and it worked well every time. It was replaced by a refer that came with a trailer I bought, no need for two. These are on Amazon for $470 before shipping and taxes. There are a few cosmetic...
