Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

One time I was in New Orleans....a vagrant was very aggressively asking me for money, I refused.... He was a bit bigger than me and he says "what I just took it off you?"... ..."well, can you run?" I asked. He says "Sure, and faster than you". ..."can you run 1500 ft/sec?" I asked... took him a...

    Cheap “Tips” and “Tricks

Here are a couple easy ones: 1) How many times do you end up collecting firewood, or stopping for groceries, or have to take stuff in/out of the vehicle...but you don't have enough arms? Go to IKEA and buy some of those blue tarp-material bags-they sell them for like a $1....stuff 2 in the...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I had 5100s on my H3.. it went from rubber bandy to solid...I wouldn't say stiff but way more control. I haven't run Fox products but have friends who have...hard to tell if they're really that good or the guys are just rationalizing their expenditure....but their rides are very capable and comfy.

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

OK, have a few questions folks: First, my usage is down here in Texas, at least for now. Wide open, sand, lots of on-beach driving and desert trips. Not a lot of rocks. This is also my daily driver and other than the add-a-leaf, I've done nothing to the suspension or front/rear bumpers...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

Ah, I have found my home! 2018 Silverado 1500 crewcab shortbed, 4WD, ARE cap w/ DECKED drawer system. Onboard air, two batteries, add-a-leaf to bring it to HD specs. I've got a few mods on it...think they're all on my profile. Now I have to go back through this thread again and take notes!

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

Well, my friend, we will have to agree to disagree. Drive through South Side Chicago or East LA or South Philly and make some new friends....you'll be begging for the nearest gun store in five minutes.

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

Depends where I go, but mostly, yes, both a rifle and a pistol. Down here in Texas, National Parks have serious cartel issues....and accidentally running into a smuggling group is bad news. At Big Bend NP, they have spotters up in the Chisos Mountains directing smuggling teams. Shots have been...

Ideas and Experiences: I might move to Morocco (and want to keep overlanding)

This is a kind of weird situation. I have a potential job opportunity in Casablanca, Morocco. Taking it would mean moving there (and giving up my truck, etc...) If I do it, I will still want to overland and possibly have a crazy chance to see NW Africa and more. But I"m also looking at this...

Cancelled Corpus Christi and Coastal Bend Texas Avid Outdoors Road-trip

I would be up for that as long as my full-sized rig can take the trail. I'm also in Houston. Ping me if you want to meet to discuss.

    New Member from Houston

Hi folks, I already posted in new members, but wanted to introduce myself here. I've been doing a lot of solo trips but would be interested in meeting like-minded OB members for trips - I roam pretty far, so with enough notice, I can be anywhere. If you're in my area, give me a shout and we...

Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

Hey everyone, Just wanted to say hello. I'm glad to have finally joined up after stealing all your ideas from YouTube. I live in Houston, but originally from Pittsburgh. I found out about OB when Michael (whom I didn't know) came in to the place I was eating breakfast and yelled "Hey, who's...
