My wife and I built our JKU to Overland...meaning it could get from point A to point B without to much concern (minus trails that have a high percentage for body damage). So we have gone places and ground camped with serviceable equipment that "just" did the trick. Our big splurge a few years...
I have a GOBI Ranger Rack on order...10 weeks to go :( ... in my ignorance I do not know if I should mount the antenna on the hood of my jeep (drivers side close to the a-pillar), fender, or the Gobi cage... I will keep reading and researching and asking questions as I move forward. Its funny...
So Im pulling the trigger on a Yaesu 400xdr. Im going to get the "Diamond K400SNMO mount" for the hood of the JK and the "Diamond NR770HBNMO antenna". Will these suffice for most Overlanding situations?
We go out to Table mesa to shoot and do some light wheeling. We are surrounded by great trails! Im just not into the trails where I'm gonna get body damage :)
Anything better in that price range that would be better? If not I will be buying it this weekend...THEN I will start studying for my license. Antenna? Speaker? Will this do me well for overlanding for 5+ years to come? >>>>And Thank you very much for the help . My wife and I greatly...
So this would work for most of any "needed" applications as a newbie to Ham? Yaesu FTM-400XDR C4FM FDMA / FM 144/430 MHz Dual Band Mobile Transceiver. How does one mount this in a JK ? would this work? 67 Designs 1" Tube Mount E-dock Phone Mounting For JK
I just pulled the trigger on a Gobi Ranger Rack. I looked at everything trying to save a dollar and a dollar there. In the I realized that rack is 100% what I wanted from the beginning. Pay once, Cry once. 12 week wait though.
How would that ARB RTT compare to a Tepui Autana 3? Wife and I are thinking about getting that or the Autana 4....Just don't know if the 4 will fit well on my Jeep JK. It would be on my the Gobi rack....once it gets here.
Hello everyone,
Don & Kelli here from Arizona. Looking forward to getting out meeting you on the trails and in camp! Look for the Dozer Yellow 4 door Jeep JK....It will look more Overlanding worthy once my roof rack gets here..12 weeks or so
