That's good to know, and really unfortunate, because I'm looking forward to that the most out of most of the sections I've got planned...is there a good alternative loop nearby that time of year?...
The iOverlander app always served me well for situations like that, trying to find primitive campsites in new areas...check it out and see if you can find anything posted on there...
I'm planning out a trip from Minnesota to the Grand Canyon, and I'd like to find some Overland Bound members to meet up with along the way and run some trails local to them. None of the trails I have planned are very hard, so you won't need a super huge rig to be able to come along. So far my...
The Nisstec website has the OME kits, and they're the ones that make the Mk84 kits as well (basically they adapted Bilstein 5100's into coilovers)...the sticker shock seems like a lot, but I've spent around $800 piecing together a Bilstein 5100 and rear Add-A-Leaf kit with a 1" front spacer, new...
I would highly recommend an OME lift kit instead of the normal Bilstein 5100's/coil spacer/add-a-leaf setup...I regret going that route and wish I'd done the Nisstec Mk84's or OME kits instead...live and learn...
I love this whole build, I have a 2006 X and have been gradually adding more and more to it with each trip out...and my Overland Bound emblem is in the same spot as yours...
You would think that someone from MN who's spent almost 25 years driving in snow wouldn't be the least bit concerned about encountering snow off road, but I've watched enough recovery videos to know that I shouldn't be out there by myself regardless of what equipment and supplies I have...I'll...
The phone app iOverlander will help out a lot with finding primitive campsites while out on the road. I can tell you right now that you won't find much in Iowa, Nebraska, or Southern MN, so heading to the Badlands and Black Hills in South Dakota is really the only priority destination along that...
I'm hoping to pass through and do some camping in Idaho and Montana in mid-October this year, and since I've never been to either area I'd like to know what sorts of things do I need to be on the lookout for? Is it too early for bears and snowfall to be an issue in the mountains? Is there any...
Well, I haven't changed jobs yet, so my weekends aren't available...if there's anyone in the Alexandria area that wants to meet up during the week, just send me a message and we'll figure out a time to hang out...
I'm going to assume that by then I'll have changed jobs and will no longer be on weekend shift, so I'll throw January 11th out there just to get the ball rolling...the venue I had in mind is Hayes' Public House in Buffalo, MN and the owner Pugs Hayes is happy to have us come drink his beer...I...
I'm currently working weekend shift, but that might be changing in the next month or two, so we'll see what happens...I'd rather travel to central or northern MN instead of going to the cities, but if everyone wants to meet up in the cities I will still go...
