I've always enjoyed the outdoors. When we were younger it was hanging out outside. Then traveling to beautiful places using air, hotel, turning business trips into adventures, etc. Eventually I began backpacking and overlanding to get in less expensive, more frequent adventures. For years my college roommate and I roamed and backpacked from CRV's . After being denied a few places I upgraded to a 4Runner Trail, now stock, but very capable and will upgrade as needed. I'm within a few years of retirement envisioned as a permanent adventure. We have lots of experiences in the American west with focus in the Sierras, southern Utah, and Colorado.
In the last 6 months I have joined up with an Overland Bound inspired local group started by Tim and Helen Schuckers, DFW Overland. We are doing weekend and longer adventures in Texas and surrounding states, and some volunteering. It is a wonderful group of like minded people.
