yes, it is tame but still fun! The water crossings make you feel like you are getting off the beaten path :) I understand they can get more dangerous after heavy rains. There are many many good picture opps too.
I agree and you could make HF a part of this trip if you wanted. We enjoyed staying at Dos Rios the first night and we went all the way out the 2nd night to "By the River RV Park and Campground"
We enjoyed the show and fell in love with the display by Exploration Outfitters out of Mead, OK. We definitely want one of these Patriot Campers they are selling. The gentleman we spoke to there also told us about a family out of Canada that their company customized a Jeep for overloading...
Trying to plan our first overland trail (other than off-road parks) trip, and I like this one because it isn't too far away from Dallas. I think we are looking at one of the Spring Break weekends in March as well.
