Hi there,
Growing up we went out: fishing, hiking, star gazing, surfing or windsurfing and camping is what you did to stay where the 'action' was. I have come to embrace the same idea with my overlanding now. I'm not interested in beating up my rig (or I for that matter) just to see if I can, but I do enjoy using my equipment to get to a local. The more remote the better. It is great to do a tough hike or bike ride and then come back to a base camp for nice meal, bonfire and a good night's sleep.
Currently most of my outdoor trips are in the Eastern Sierra, but I do reach out to four corners and up to Oregon. For each trip, I try to pick a theme: fishing, Native American sites or astronomy for example and that way people know more or less what to expect. I post the plan in a google sheet and invite people to join.

I've come to realize the joy of sharing a trip vs. everyone being on the exact same trip. Hence, some join late, some leave early or some just want a report on how it went.
So as such, I'm looking for like minded people who are out enjoying nature and perhaps sharing part of a trip with.
Roger
p.s. Unfortunately, I still have that 'work' thing, so that has to be juggled in the mix.
