I purchased my first “Overlanding” vehicle in 1981... A Toyota FJ55 Land Cruiser Wagon. That vehicle could go anywhere... slowly. When I couldn’t get it to stop burning oil, I traded it in on a brand new 1986 Isuzu Trooper ll. A very fun off-road truck that got way better gas mileage than the Toyota. When I decided I needed air conditioning, I sold that and bought a new 1993 Trooper. I kept this wonderful, reliable vehicle for 25 years taking it on many adventures. I had bought my Subaru Forester off the lot in 2014 but kept the Trooper for my fun off-road car. But that changed. My knees are older now and would complain after using the clutch a lot, so I sold the Trooper to CARB. The Forester has been great but after some excursions in Death Valley I realized I miss my Land Cruiser, so.... On 10/16/2020 I purchased a 2006 Lexus LX470...
