US West Trailer trek - Southeast California

Thanks Roger. Looking forward to seeing you at next mtg, or maybe Usal. I am visiting all the campsites and trails for the Anza Mojave trip and will post an updated map over the weekend. We have 8 trailer rigs and one OB member for the majority of the trip, plus one or two more OB folks...

    Ram 2500/HQ19 Full-Time

Thanks - yes, the "outlines" on the top of the stove are 8" and 10", but the coils underneath are what I'm after - I've asked the vendor - will share here if they reply. Best of luck with the rest of your conversion :-)

    Ram 2500/HQ19 Full-Time

Awesome setup - thanks for sharing your progress. We went all electric last year and it has generally been good - summertime is fine with 2Kw solar and we rarely run the AC. With a bit of heat pump from the Houghton in the morning we typically use 300-400Ah of electrons overnight from 1060Ah...

US West Trailer trek - Southeast California

Thanks Cliff - I may prerun the sites if my projects get done ahead of schedule, or we can decide on the fly - the other travelers (non-OB folks) are all fairly hardy and adventurous, even if some of us are a bit long in the tooth, and given to boondocking whenever possible versus organized...

US West East Bay Monthly Meet Up - at Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park - Sunol CA

Here's the working itinerary - it's been fairly stable for a few weeks now, but still subject to change - probably won't decide until day of which of the campsites we'll actually use, but you can always reach me on 408-480-9583 or, for this trip, GMRS 15/19. You're welcome to join in as your...

US West Trailer trek - Southeast California

Hi Cliff - near Owl Canyon, just this side at Rainbow Basin - we avoid formal campgrounds where possible, but as I haven't actually camped at Rainbow Basin we'll scoot over to Owl Canyon if appropriate.

US West East Bay Monthly Meet Up - at Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park - Sunol CA

Hello Friends - I have published the spring "trailer types" event at: https://www.overlandbound.com/event/trailer-trek-southeast-california/? Of course, all of you are welcome if you can join us for all or part of the trip. I've already got 10 non-OB trailer folks lined up, so I'm limiting...

US West Trailer trek - Southeast California

This is a leisurely trek through Anza-Borrego, Chuckwalla, Joshua Tree, Mojave and Death Valley. Oriented around folks with trailers, but all are welcome. Mostly 2 nights at each location, around 80 miles per day, on average. View Rally Point

US West Usal Beach - Klamath River - Horse Ridge - Overland Trailer Trip

Awesome - we will likely be either here (most likely): 41.50503, -123.99579, or here (backup): 41.50656, -123.98393 - they are close together. You should be able to raise us on GMRS 15 or 20, or call me on 408-480-9583. :-)

    Air-down trailer as well?

Can there be a third life to this thread? Hoping so. My first question is, air down the trailer in sand, or not? Second question is, how about steeps, like >14 degrees? Our rig is a 6k lb single Timbren running on 265/70R17 KO2s. Huge benefit to airing down on rocks, washboard and gravel, but...

Also, reminder - radio channels have changed - we will now use GMRS 15 as our primary and GMRS 20 as our backup. cheers, D
