It was our first time through the loop, so I don’t know what normal crowds look like. It didn’t seem overly crowded, and we didn’t have time to do any exploring off the main road. I’m already planning a solo trip up there next week. The wife and kids will be home with school and work.

We came back from Tahoe on the 395 yesterday. on a friends suggestion, we drove the June Lake loop and stopped by the Silver Lake cafe. Got caught in a freak rainstorm, but had a great time. We will definitely be going back to spend a few days at June and Gull.

A buddy has an awesome Sportsmobile van conversion. To much for my wallet. They use very stout aluminum bumpers from Aluminess in their conversions. I’ve been trying to get Aluminess to make something for a Ram 1500. No luck yet.

High visibility orange. I like it. Easy to identify and grab in the event of an emergency.

Well, I was all excited to show off a gift I received last summer from a close friend, but it looks like I need to restock it. It’s a Pelican 1500 case with custom cutouts for a bottle of Makers Mark, two glasses and two cigars. A little bulky, but it guarantees to goods are safe when you arrive

For my Ram 1500 I reached out to Expedition One. They said they’d have a version of their dual swing out rear bumper in the next couple of weeks. A little pricey, but the 2500 version will hold a 40” spare and 4 roto packs or 2 nato scepter cans.
