As a Chef, I have a wide variety of interest, but my main goal at this time is to educate. My enthusiasm shows when I am sharing my knowledge of flavor profiles, teaching cooking techniques, and enlighten my students with time saving short-cuts. I have the willingness to try just about anything and the wit to keep a table full of guest laughing. I started helping out in a kitchen at an early age.
I moved back home to the state of Texas in 1992. I continue to work in the food and beverage industries today as an instructor, pursuing my passion for teaching exotic flavors of the world, inspired by 20 years as a military dependent.
I have worked at Central Market in Austin Texas for the past 22 years and 20 of them have been in our Cooking School. I have cooked with and washed dishes for some of the best chefs from around the world.
My partner and I bought a new to us 2004 Lexus LX470 that we took to Big Bend NP the first month we owned it. Had a blast out in 4x4 country and even got two flats on the River Road that we managed to self extract from.
In June we went to Iceland and sent a week in a micro RV going aroung the ring road and seeing the sights of the land of fire and ice. Hiked up the active Volcano, into Ice caves and around waterfalls.
We are now proud owners of a SuperLite and hope to post more about our adventures soon.
