I retired from the army in 2007 from Ft. Lewis, Wa, I loved the mountains so much that I decided to stay. I've always been an avid wilderness freak and enjoy camping, hiking and of course four wheeling. I grew up in the country and enjoy a more quiet life, especially after 20 years in the military.
I've been a mechanic since I was a teenager, trained in everything from small engines to helicopters. Chinook helicopter mechanic was my job in the army, I was also a flight engineer on them as well for the last 10 years I was in. I'm fully retired now and ready to do a bit of traveling and have some fun. My fiance is planning to retire in the next year and enjoys much of the same things that I do. We just bought 2017 Rubicon to overland with. We had just planned on doing some camping with it when I started looking into overlanding, this group seemed like the best fit for us as we're not experts and have the same values as everyone here seems to have for nature and others. We're looking forward to meeting new friends and doing some driving.
