I bought a 2018 Colorado ZR2 on May 8th. It was an impromptu purchase brought on by the death of my 2005 Trailblazer LS after 254K miles (2nd owner after 31K miles). The first day of our 3-week travel trailer trip from the SF Bay Area to San Diego, Anza-Borrego and Sequoias National Forest...
Yes. And my wife is going with me. I've been talking about modifying my truck for years. She really didn't understand what I wanted to do. I finally decided to pull the trigger on the mods a couple of weeks ago so began buying equipment. I posted what I'm going to mod in another thread...
So being a newbie, what do I need to know about the meet? Is it a potluck type of gathering? Will there be demonstrations or discussions about equipment or adventures? Looking forward to meeting you.
Oh! One more thing. Yesterday I bought a 2013 (yes, 2013) Forest River R-Pod 19' camping trailer. Put down a deposit. Just waiting for Fidelity to sell some mutual funds and transfer to money to the bank.
Purchased within the past two weeks.

I bought the same winch on Amazon on Jan. 22, 2023. It was on sale for $263.00. Because of this, I finally pulled the plug on modifying my 2005 Trailblazer into an Overland ride. As of 1/22/23 I've spent about $4,000 on off-road equipment. It's at my brother-in-laws in Oregon. I'll be...
I just got my GMRS license and TIDRADIO GM-5R radios. I have no idea how to get started with these. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I watched a few videos, but they were very basic (what's in the box; how to turn it on; software to download; etc.).
I'm looking forward to the Feb. 11th meet at Pleasant Hill Park. This will be my first meet since joining OB. I hope to make connections with local members. The Trailblazer is going to be upgraded with a steel bumper, winch, 3" suspension lift, 2"body lift, 4.10:1 front diff gears (rear G80...

Brentwood here. I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer that I bought in November 2005. It's my daily driver that has been on the sand dunes in United Arab Emirates, mountains in Oman, dirt trails in California, logging roads in Oregon, prairie trails in Saskatchewan Canada and others places lost to...
Thanks for the shoutout. We actually have the same motor, except mine is a 4.2l six cylinder. The Atlas is a great platform available in 4, 5 & 6 cylinders. Unfortunately GM quit making them. My motor has over 210k miles on it and still going strong.
