I’ve always wanted a 4x4 van to go camping off the beaten path regardless of the weather conditions. I started camping in a 79 Bronco and then a 2004 Expedition, but as the trips became longer from home, my wife and I needed more room. I tried a 2012 E-series van 2x4, (nice but no 4x4… mistake) With Sportsmobile being at the top of the list but, economy and parts availability on the road made me consider the only option, a factory 4x4. Sprinter is today's only choice. Outside Van was out of my price range so I desided to build my own. So I bought a Sprinter Crew last February. So let the upfitting begin! My wife and I immediately had trips planned the day we brought it home, so all the upfittings were prioritized for the next road trip.
Upper state NH, Maine, Montreal, and a vacation to Corolla beach (4x4 only) NC where in the cards. My hope, is that some of these ideas will inspire others.
Thanks to Grant (OB1616) is defiantly an inspiration.
