@Boort What about fishing/dispersed camping between Dubois and the Tetons? I spent a few weeks doing a geology mapping project based out of Dubois back in 2007. My memory is a little hazy.

So, I'm planning a camping/fishing trip with my brothers (one lives in Wisconsin, the other in Rapid City, SD) for the spring. One definitely wants to hit the trout spawning runs in Flaming Gorge in May. The other is down for whatever. Me, I want to camp in the some places with tremendous views...

Sounds like fun. If I didn't already have a trip to UT/WY/MT/SD planned in May, I would consider joining you. The only time I Spent in/near Cherokee was driving along the Cherohala Skyway on my way to a drilling job at the TVA Appalachia Dam back in 2012. Absolutely beautiful area.

Either way, OP, you can't go wrong with either. A SR5 with ATRAC will get you out of most situations, a TRD Off Road with read locking differential and crawl control will get you out of a few more. It all depends on what you intended uses are. An SR5 is incredibly capable out of the box...
