    First Mojave Road trip

The Kelso Dunes are pretty awesome and might be fun for the little one to run through. I also second the train station.

High Mileage Rigs And Legendary Powerplants

I inherited my '97 4Runner with the 3.4L two years ago. It had 250k when I got it but blew a headgasket at 270k, which was a bummer. That ultimately lead me to have the engine stripped to its core and rebuilt. 6,000 on the new unit, and it's breaking in nicely. The transmission was spruced up...

    4runner payload paradox

I have found both Ronny Dahl's Youtube Channel and the Overland bound channel to be full of useful info on recovery! I play it pretty safe when I go out as well. If I'm in an area where I don't know the trails, I stick to forest roads that I know I can drive safely. Arizona has a lot of them...

    4runner payload paradox

^This! This is great advice! After I lifted my 3rd gen, I took it on a pretty substantial road trip in the Mojave. I slept in my ground tent with minimal supplies, and I'm overall very happy with how it went and how the truck rides. BUT, I realized I need to change my rear spring setup...

Who's Excited for the 2021 (if we're lucky) Ford Bronco?

Yes, yes, we're all aware that previous generations of the Bronco existed. The "original" I was referring to was the original production time of the Bronco, which ended in 1996. You could also make a very good argument that the Bronco's most iconic status WAS in the early to mid-1990s and when...

Who's Excited for the 2021 (if we're lucky) Ford Bronco?

New Bronco looks awesome! Just guessing, but with the Bronco's larger size, it may be best suited for Overlanding anyways, in which case I think IFS can be perfectly serviceable. Also, the U.S market could use another platform like the Bronco, it'll be fun to see things shaken up a bit...

    Social Distancing In Style!

Had a nice quiet day hanging with the dog, admiring all of the blooming flowers, cactus flowers etc. We stay inside as much as possible, but it's important to get a little fresh air now and again. The Mountains were especially beautiful today with the clouds out.

    high winds

I love pictures of dust storms! I'm in So. Central AZ, so I feel this. Everything you own and love will get dust in it. I change my air filter often. :sweatsmile:I miss West Texas and would like to head out that way again. The Chihuahuan desert and Big Bend country is a sight to behold.

    Long travels deserve chuckles

Man, my wife would lose her mind if she saw this. I'll check it out if I'm ever in the area.

    Windshield Pics...

I love seeing all these great pics in totally different environments. Fog in a forest of Joshua Trees in early morning, Mojave Preserve. Powerline road overlooking Kelso Dunes.

    4Runner Owners Registry

Here's a great old review of the 1st gen 4Runner. I had a lot of fun watching this.

    4Runner Owners Registry

Here's "Dwight" in capitivity, and in the wild. Can you see those ominous rain clouds above? It dumped on us that night. This is my '97, it's been in my family since... '97! Recently had a new engine built for it, also had the transmission rebuilt. Front end, suspension, everything's been gone...

    Mojave Trails National Monument

I know, I saw this! I wish I could be there for it and meet some of the members. Unfortunately, I'm meeting my wife in Joshua Tree that weekend.

    Mojave Trails National Monument

Hi all! I'm thinking of checking out some of Mojave Trails National Monument next week after I drive through Mojave National Preserve. It's going to be just me and the dog so we're not hitting too much trail this time around but still want to do some exploring. We wheel in South Central AZ all...
