    Overland Related Recreation

Main reason I don’t have a roof top tent is I usually have ski pod, kayaks, surfboards, etc up there. This year I got the motorbike rack, can’t wait for spring to try it!

DIY 5kw diesel heater in a case.

These units are great! I mounted one inside of my Jeep. I had a custom tank made for the diesel and mounted it and the pump on my tire carrier so I don’t have to listen to the pump clicking. At -20C outside it ran for 2.5 days at +20C inside before my aux battery was to low to power it. Only...

    Cold Temperature Overlanding

Hello, Has anyone ever done any extreme cold Overlanding trips? I like to think I’m prepared for everything but I just want to take the opportunity to learn from others experience. Any helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I already have a diesel air heater, working on insulating...

    Radio Quals?

Hello, I’m looking to branch out my expeditions further and some of the areas require a vhf/uhf dual band radio. I know anyone can buy them off of Amazon and such but do you need a license to operate? I have my radio operator license for flying and I know that’s different but do I need a Ham...

    Dedicated tablet for mapping

I hadn’t heard of the XGPS and was just checking it out. It sounds like a good system for overlanding but I like having the option of taking the inreach out when I hike. Plus the emergency SAR button gives pretty good piece of mind. The connection to the tablet is pretty smooth too. If you’re...

    Show off your campsite

My buddy and I built sleeping quarters in the back of our Jeeps with diesel air heaters. Works awesome on the trail! Just drive in, set up is really fast! Relax and cook steaks over the fire!

    Jeep Meet/Fire Pit/Clean up

The fire pit and clean up was a lot of fun. Had a good turn out and got a full trailer of garbage out of there. Still lots more to clean up though. Next time I’ll plan through here as well.

    Jeep Meet/Fire Pit/Clean up

I’m new to Overland Bound or I would have posted this sooner. Our Facebook group Jeeps of Edmonton are meeting near Wabamun Creek at the off-road spot near the North Saskatchewan River for a small bon-fire, Jeep meet and to do a clean up of the area. There gets to be a lot of garbage in the area...
