I put my name on this vehicle right during the solar eclipse, and I am pretty excited about it. However, I do miss my old, sure, and steady 2014. So far, I have only added accessories and overlays to the vehicle.
Accessories from Subaru:
Subaru Outback Wilderness mudflaps
Window deflectors...
It's the end of an era for my 2014 Outback, which was traded in at 116k miles. I upgraded to a 2024 Outback Wilderness, which I plan to modify in a similar style to my 2014. I also still have my 2020 Legacy XT, so now I have 2 Subarus with turbo engines in the garage. Before I allowed for my...
If members have seen my build thread for my 2014 Outback, one would know that I am no stranger to owning an Outback. I just purchased a 2024 Outback Wilderness (my 3rd Outback), which in most cases would be familiar to my 2014 Outback except for a few things...the new engine, even though I have...
Last month, during the solar eclipse, I decided to put my name on a newer Outback Wilderness. I also ended up trading in my 2014 Outback, so this is the end of an era. While I am sad about trading in my 2014 Outback with 116k miles, I look forward to what the new Outback Wilderness (my sixth...
I know more about overlanding Outbacks than Jeeps, unfortunately. In terms of the cargo space in the rear, the cargo in the Outback is more generous, considering it can, in some ways, be classified as a sport utility wagon. I know that the Outback has a shorter wheelbase compared to a JKU...
Just a slight update. I swapped out my old steel-made ladder for one that is aluminum. The aluminum one has more of a texture on the steps. The steel one weighed 17 whooping pounds whereas the aluminum one weighed 6 pounds.
Also, I celebrated 10 years with this wonderful car. I drove it...
I tried one of the local tire shops and they did ok but one of the front wheels was a bit on the maxed side out but otherwise, the alignment was within spec. But when I did my roadtrip back to Portland, Rallitek corrected the alignment to being nearly perfect, since they know all of the parts...
This was the car's location at Overland Expo Mtn West. I still have a good amount of headroom back there. Soon I might try to put a platform in there to see if it would work or not.
Let me check my schedule to see if I am free that day! I will probably know for sure after Overland Expo Mtn West but if I do not get too busy in the vendor's booth, I would know sooner.
This weekend, I got my car prepped to be at Overland Expo Mtn West. It has been fully detailed since it would be in the vendor area and got my camping gear down.
I will be heading out to Loveland on Thursday afternoon. For me, it is just a hour drive. I will be in the vendor area since my car will be on display during the weekend.
It has been awhile since I have posted anything about my vehicle due to things being rather quiet (weather has been nasty this summer) but I still have my Outback. It just completed an almost 3600-mile roundtrip back to Portland metro. While there, I visited my favorite offroad shop, Rallitek...
If one can see in the photo above (previous post), my Outback needed an alignment to fix the rear toe. The dealership managed to get it done but it is not perfect but within spec. Sometime this summer, I am thinking about heading back to where it was built and see the crew at Rallitek and see...
I have done several trails in Oregon, Washington, and in Colorado with that Subie. I know what it is capable of doing but I haven't fully pushed it. In terms of your question about my lift, that is actually 1.5" with an additional 0.4-0.5" in the rear.
Mine is a Subaru Outback that can do most moderate trails. If people would like to do the harder moderate trails, I do not want to stop them due to my vehicle. Here is a photo of my Outback when it did WABRD in 2021.
